2nd place @PKRA Brazil
So that was it for PKRA Brazil as well. I managed to get my fourth 2nd place in a row on a PKRA World Tour event. I’m pretty hapy with it and thanks to it I have already confirmed my Vice World Champion title once again, even with 1 more event that can happen in New Caledonia to go.
It was a really good event for me as the spot was insane and I arrived there early to enjoy the insanely flat water and perfect kickers. I had my best sessions ever before the competition and landed my biggest backside5′s ever, some fully inverted crow mobe 5 and a few moby dicks which I really enjoyed. It was also really fun because I had the support from my girlfriend who came to the event and a few other friends!
The level on this competition was really high as always or even higher. Just to be on the TOP 10 on this one was really hard. There were some big names who didn’t make it to TOP 10.We had a lot of good brazilian riders who shredded on this event, specially Eudazio da Silva and Carlos Madson. They are guys to really look out on the future. In fact, Carlos got a 3rd place on the event.
I made my way to the single elimination’s final riding against lots of good riders with relatively not much trouble. As on the last few events I competed agains Youri Zoon. I had a good heat and he did as well. I think everyone on the beach were enjoying it and also the ones that followed the livestream. It was a close heat which ended up on a 4-1 decission to Youri once again.
It is being impossible for me to win from Youri this year as judges are rewarding too much the speed you go into the tricks and he goes faster than anyone else’s. I can’t go as fast as him as my kite has a lot more POP than his and it would be impossible for me to land. So against him, I’ve been loosing even landing more technical tricks like mobe5, blind 315, front blind mobe, s-mobe5… I know how it is now and I’m gonna have to work more on that for next year to see if I can beat him then.
Thanks to all that followed me during the competition on my Twitter and on my Facebook
Good winds to everyone!

Congratulations for your 2nd place overall! I’m from Brazil and live at Natal, near Cunhaú. Youri is riding really powerful and it’s been difficult to everyone to beat him this year. I was really impressive with your riding here, since I’ve watched you training before the comp. What about the guys here? They’re killing it just as you guys huh?!
Hope we’ll see you riding here more times, always a pleasure.
